Cathy Husted Giesy, an Arizona native, has traveled extensively in Mexico and Central America. She has a degree in Anthropology from the University of Arizona and was active in Amigos de LasAmericas. For years, her focus has been on designing and conducting the high quality learning experiences that we offer today. She also has taught Spanish for many years.

Marshall Giesy, born and raised in Ohio, developed an early interest in history, culture, and the outdoors. After graduating from Syracuse University, he was in the VISTA program working with Native Americans in Alaska. For years his focus has been on exploration in Mexico and Latin America.

Together, their high level of experience in conducting tours, their knowledge of people, places, and customs, and their impressive array of contacts, both personal and professional, combine to bring you an unparalleled opportunity for comfortable and exciting travel experiences.

Helena Kummerli

Helena is a native of Switzerland and speaks five different languages. She is a world traveler and has an impressive perspective of many cultures. She worked for many years for the President of the Ivory Coast in Africa and has traveled on business in the Middle East, Asia, Indonesia, South America and the US. She fell in love with Arizona> and the western US and has developed an incredible knowledge of local and regional cultures, history, and natural history. She is not only an expert tour leader, but a compassionate and caring person.


Tallia Cahoon

Born in Arizonaand raised in the Southern Arizona mining town of Ruby, Tallia lived an integral part of the history of Arizona>. Tallia’s father was a mining engineer in Ruby, now a ghost town and a fine example of the development of early Arizona>. She has a personal knowledge of this colorful part of Arizona>and can regale you not only with historical facts and figures, but with an awesome array of personal anecdotes and stories of those who shaped the mines of the Arivaca area.


John Dell

A retired forest ranger, John combines a tremendous knowledge of the southwest environment and history with a true passion for sharing it with others. He has been a hiker and mountain climber throughout the southwest and has been leading hiking, cultural and natural history tours for more than two decades into his special areas of interest. His impressive reputation precedes him.
